With respective careers in Interior design and Architecture, and a devotion to proportion, designing furniture seemed a natural progression. The result is ÆSTHETIC NMF in 2004, a collection of enduring and understated elegant pieces.

The collection was originally devised to satisfy the designers’ shared minimal aesthetic, as well as a need to provide solutions to the problems posed by the ever increasing economy of space. ‘Light and space are never the same on any project’ says Iran, ‘and finding furniture to fit the mould of your own aesthetic is always difficult.’

The fact that furniture is primarily functional has not been disregarded by the designers, who have successfully avoided compromise between style and substance. ‘The idea was always to design pieces that had a purpose, as well as being an integral part of any space.’

The essence of the collection lies in concise geometric proportions combined with a restrained use of materials. Superior wood lends sophistication to unpretentious solid forms, whilst delicate mirror inserts reflect light and help to adapt each piece to its environment.
